2nd SupraYield Process: Furfural from Bagasse

Newsflash: Soon after commissioning of the digesters at the PSM Biorefinery (Proserpine, Australia), the second furfural plant, which is based on the SupraYield process, is getting ready to start-up during the first quarter of 2010 at Panoli (India). It will supply furfural for its furfuryl alcohol plant, which is still under construction (start-up scheduled during second quarter 2010).

IFT Announces A Significant Transaction

On the 8 August 2007, we announced that International Furan Technology (Pty) Ltd concluded a significant transaction with Proserpine Corporate Sugar Milling Association (QLD, Australia). There is no doubt in our mind that this transaction strengthens the SupraYield technology and provides additional support on our market and project development front. From 3Q08 onwards we’ll be able to offer our prospective customers access to a working plant and opportunities to test their feedstock under production conditions. The pilot plants remain in South Africa and we continue to maintain the co-operation with the University of KwaZulu-Natal, focusing on the down-stream products and application development.
